Share the cooldeb love

Instead of making resolutions, I like to follow Chris Brogan in the practice of selecting 3 words to motivate mind and heart for the new year. I started doing this a few years back. While these words do not guarantee a perfectly charted course for life, they can guide and direct your spirit.

In 2014, my 3 words were Fearless, Voice and Dazz. I’d give myself a B for achieving 2 out of 3.

For 2015, my words are Bliss, Blog and Believe.

We could all use some bliss, right?

Let’s face it, this earthly life is challenging. We are facing divisive lines across race and religion. We are struggling with gun violence compounded by mental illness. The nightly news is depressing for our nation. It’s heartbreaking and disheartening.

To create balance and focus for 2016, I will intentionally seek and acknowledge blissful moments.

I will recognize when a moment is good and lift up praises to God.

I will choose to wear an armour of positivity against the negative bombardment of daily life.

I will shield my mind and heart through the power of joyful moments.

I promise to honor and seize bliss daily.

While the blogosphere would frown upon my posting once a month, that timing works for me.

I’m one of those bloggers who brain dumps and then edits and re-edits. A lot. Blogging is a process and it takes time.

I have fallen off my blogging wagon yet, with good reason. I’ve been busy embracing the amazing new changes in my life! This includes accepting a job in August and moving to Florida in September.

My cooldeb voice has been quiet for several months. If I’m honest, I missed sharing it. Selfish? Perhaps, but I didn’t claim vanity as one of my words for 2016!

I will dedicate time to share my voice and ask for yours in the coming year.

I am in an amazing place.

While I had put my heart on moving to Florida a couple of years ago, I can look back now and see that God had His perfect timing. I pinch myself often. Good continues to repeat. I am perfectly placed and at the right time.

Lucky for me, my new work environment fosters belief, positivity and affirmation. Only going up.

I will seize belief and help others do the same to pursue their creative pursuits and visions.

Your turn. What are your three words for 2016? One or two words is cool, so don’t be shy and share via comments.

Love to read Cooldeb’s blog again. I certainly understand why you have been silent but welcome you, your ideas and opinions back. I need to give more thought to three words but one I know is healthy. I need to refocus my attention on being my best physically. I have been coasting too long and realize I need to make the effort to improve. If I achieve better health this one word will be enough for me in 2016. Slainte!
