It’s that annual time of year! A time to forget resolutions and instead, choose 3 words for 2017!
The concept is an easy one: choose 3 words to ground your head and heart throughout the new year. They can reflect actions, emotions, thoughts or simply be fun in nature. (I have one of these in my 2017 mix). Credit goes to Chris Brogan for the concept.
My 3 words in 2016 were Bliss. Blog. Believe. I give myself an A, C and B in that order.
For 2017 (and can I get a drum roll please)…
My 3 words – COMPOSED
I consider myself pretty calm, cool and collected in my down time. However, I would like to elevate this quality in my workplace.
Let me be clear – I am not a loose cannon or a hot head! However, I’m comfortable enough in my own skin to admit I’m not the best at hiding my stress levels when they elevate. My brain simply gets going in many directions and I struggle at times to quiet it. And breath.
Composed is my BE word for 2017.
My 3 words – TRAVEL
Simply put, I’m spending way too many weekends wholly focused on errands, cleaning, laundry and yard work.
Again, let me be clear. I know we need to do these things, right? However, I still consider myself a Florida newbie and I want to travel and create more balance.
I had established an every other year travel goal from 2004 to 2012. I alternated between travel abroad and the Outer Banks in North Carolina. So 2017 will include weekend trips to explore Floridian coasts and state parks. Also on the docket? A return to Europe. I’m blessed because I’m at a place in my life where I can easily go with Bo. And we choose go!
Travel is my DO word for 2017.
My 3 words – DUDE
Ready to find one; ready for love. It’s really that simple and I plan to put my head, heart and intent on this one. Since I am declaring this for all to see – oh yeah – it’s on. It’s a bit uncomfortable to publicly proclaim but I believe in the power of openness and energyness.
Dude is my SEEK word for 2017.
I welcome your thoughts and reflections on your own 3 words or a single word. Cheers to being, doing and seeking. Add #mythreewords if you want to join a greater social conversation.
